Our Tier 1 team will begin its PCRHL title defense this weekend against St. Joes, while our Tier 2 team is looking to make strides in what will hopefully be a more evenly balanced Tier 2 division this year.
Our Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams will each play their first game in Marple’s fall leagues this week. On Thursday, Tier 2, also known as City Sushi in Marple’s E league, plays their first game at 7:30pm. Tier 1, also known as City Wok, begins on Monday in Marple’s C South league. The jump up to C South presents a challenge the club has not faced in a few years and proves that the club is on the rise coming off a championship season.
Our official tryout will be held this Saturday, September 7th from 2pm-3:30pm at Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ. If you would like to attend but did not make it to the season-opening GBM, it isn’t too late! Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you are interested.
Building off of momentum gained by a regular season win over Saint Joe’s, and a playoff win against Villanova to get to the finals, Tier 1 swept St. Joe’s in a best-of-three final round to earn our FIRST EVER BRENNAN CUP!
Backstopped by superb goal tending from Mike Ballard and Dave Rinder, strong puck possession, and unrelenting defense, Penn’s Tier 1 overpowered defending champs St. Joe’s, winning 8-5 and 5-2.
Here’s to defending the Brennan Cup in the 2013-2014 season!
It’s official! Penn’s Tier 1 team is headed to the PCRHL finals after a dominant 5-2 win over Villanova this past weekend. The team is looking to secure it’s first-ever Brennan Cup against the always-tough St. Joe’s Tier 1 team. Things will be different this year: Penn was the only team to snatch a point in the standings from St. Joe’s this season in a win that marked Penn’s first victory over St. Joe’s in almost four years.
The best-of-3 series will be played this Sunday night, April 28th, at Marple Sports Arena. Games are scheduled for 6pm, 8pm, and 10pm (if needed).

For our D South league, Penn’s two teams (#SWAG and #YOLO) are both off to good starts after moving up a tier from E League. #SWAG is off to a solid 2-0 start with wins over Old State and Rasczaks’s Roughnecks, while #YOLO is coming off a tough loss to Horn Frogs after beating District 5 in Week 1. The sure-to-be-a-thriller #SWAG vs. #YOLO game is set for February 25th.
PCRHL is set to start this upcoming weekend, with Penn Tier 2 facing off against Ursinus and Penn Tier 1 readying for a University CIty showdown against Drexel.
